"Stories And Storytelling" A Talk By Wang Anyi (Presented In CHINESE ONLY)
Speaker: Wang Anyi (王安忆), Author & Chair Professor of Chinese Literature at Fudan University

THIS EVENT WILL BE PRESENTED IN CHINESE ONLY.

Wang Anyi is a world-renowned writer from Shanghai and a leading figure in Chinese realism today.  She is a recipient of the Mao Dun Literary Prize, among many other prestigious literary awards inside and outside of China.  A focal point of critical literature since the 1980s, her literary career coincides with the historical development of post-Mao Chinese society, its everyday life, and its changing, increasingly multifarious realities.

She is the author of a dozen novels, including Song of Everlasting Sorrow (长恨歌), Age of Enlightenment (启蒙时代), and Heavenly Fragrance (天香), in addition to four volumes of short sotries, eight volumes of novellas, and several volumes of personal as well as critical essays.  Her most recent novel is Anonymous (匿名, 2015).

She is Chair Professor of Chinese Literature at Fudan Unviersity, and Director of the Fudan MA Program in Creative Writing.  For Spring 2016, she is currently the Global Distinguished Writer in Residence at NYU China House.
