Please join the East Asian Studies Workshop for the seventh 2020-21 year meeting, sponsored by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. This time, our workshop will focus on a new book by Professor Yurou Zhong of University of Toronto, entitled Chinese Grammatology: Script Revolution and Literary Modernity, 1916–1958 (Columbia University Press, 2019).

At the workshop, Professor Zhong will first provide an introduction to his book, followed by commentaries from two discussants, Matthew Palmer (Ph.D. Candidate in Chinese Linguistics) and Taranee Cao (Ph.D. Candidate in Japanese Linguistics). The floor will then be open for questions from the audience.
