EAS Workshop with Professor Ling Hon Lam - The Spatiality of Emotion in Early Modern China: From Dreamscapes to Theatricality

Speaker: Professor Ling Hon Lam

Please join us for the second 2020-21 year meeting of the East Asian Studies Workshop, sponsored by the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures. This time, our workshop will focus on a new book by Professor Ling Hon Lam of University of California, Berkeley, entitled The Spatiality of Emotion in Early Modern China: From Dreamscapes to Theatricality (Columbia University Press, 2018).

At the workshop, Professor Lam will first provide an introduction to his book, followed by commentaries from two discussants, Xiaoyi Huang (Ph.D. candidate in pre-modern Chinese literature) and Maciej Kurzynski (Ph.D. candidate in modern Chinese literature). The floor will then be open for questions from the audience.
