Closing Keynote: What Asia Mobility means for U.S. Business

Join the US-Asia Technology Management Center for the ninth session in our 2021 Autumn Seminar Series, Mobility: Asia Moves Forward in the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Join us as for our final session in our series as we welcome Mr. Hans Tung, Managing Partner at GGV Capital, for a fireside chat with Dr. Richard Dasher.  During the program, Mr. Tung will share his insights into mobility-related trends and opportunities in Asia.  The conversation with Mr. Tung will range across a variety of important topics influencing mobility in Asia today. How does he see the worldwide impact of the growth of China markets and Chinese innovation in EVs and autonomous vehicles? What is the impact on broader US-Asia business opportunities in the context of the current friction with China? How have Asia-based delivery platforms like Grab and Gojek greatly expanded their business lines to many other services and what should U.S. companies learn from their success? And finally, what are some big mobility-related opportunities in Asia now and where will that lead in the future?

The shift of IT to the cloud and the growth of new tools such as AI and edge computing have already caused major advances in mobility; for example, smartphones now serve as platforms for banking, education, ride hailing, ID authentication, wellness monitoring, etc.  This series examines new technology-and-business solutions that may shape the future of mobility, e.g. smart city infrastructure for autonomous vehicles, intelligent prosthetics for physical mobility, autonomous delivery robots, new propulsion and navigation systems, new applications of mobile IT devices, and more.
