On the Asian Art Museum Exhibit, "Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul"

Fredrik Hiebert, archaeologist with the National Geographic Society, will talk about the exhibit at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, "Afghanistan: Hidden Treasures from the National Museum, Kabul." Dr. Hiebert, who was a curator for the exhibit, will speak about the gold hoard from Tillya-Tepe which was bravely hidden and protected by Kabul museum personnel during the recent warfare in Afghanistan. The exhibit also includes Bronze Age materials and artifacts from other sites in Afghanistan, including many ancient Silk Road trade items from Begram. The exhibit at the Asian Art Museum runs through January 25.
