Special Address 3: Patterns of Entrepreneurship in the US, China and Across East Asia

Following an introduction of survey data on attitudes toward entrepreneurship in the U.S. and selected Asian economies, this talk examines the environment for entrepreneurship in these economies. This environment includes cultural factors as well as characteristics of labor markets, financing, and physical, legal, and regulatory infrastructure. Recent trends and structural changes will be discussed, and the talk will conclude with an exploration of prospects for future developments.
